Everyone submits a sitemap and assumes the job is done. Then Search Console shows hundreds of URLs "discovered" and not indexed. The sitemap did its job: Google knows the list. It hasn't prioritized the crawl (crawl budget is finite). That's when we pull the same URLs into IndexMe and notify Google directly.

Two different jobs

Sitemap = inventory (GSC sitemaps report). Indexing API submit = "hey, look at these" (Indexing API docs). You want both. Inventory without submission is how catalogs go stale. Submission without a clean sitemap means you'll miss pages over time. We talk about the speed angle more in sending links faster, and the ongoing angle in automatic submission.

Our sitemap → IndexMe flow

1. Add the site in the dashboard.
2. Paste the sitemap URL and let IndexMe scan it.
3. Run bulk indexing on what it finds.
4. Leave auto-indexing on for whatever shows up next month.
5. Retry the ones that error out.

This is the boring-but-effective path for big sitemaps. Manual Search Console will never keep up. Plans are there if you need more room.
