How to Index a Website on Google

Illustration of indexing a website in Google Search

Indexing means the URL can appear. Ranking is a different fight. Start with the index.

How Google Search works: discover → crawl → index → rank. Folks mash those words together and then wonder why a "fully SEO optimized" page still says URL is not on Google.

Index the site in practice

Verify in Search Console. Ship an XML sitemap. Make sure important templates aren't blocked — robots path tester is handy here. Then notify Google about URLs on purpose.

One-off pages: Request indexing. Dozens or hundreds: IndexMe bulk + auto jobs from the dashboard. That's the same pipeline we describe in sending multiple links and automatic submission.

When it still fails

Read the Page indexing reasons. Soft 404s, noindex, canonical fights — we cover those in other posts. Quick triage: HTTP status checker, website SEO checker, then resubmit only after the page looks sane.
