Google's Sitemaps report is the official door. You paste sitemap.xml (or a sitemap index), hit Submit, and hope the status says Success. That means Google could read the file — not that every URL is indexed.

Do this in order

1. Verify the site in Search Console (domain property if you can).
2. Confirm the sitemap URL loads publicly — try sitemap reachability and sitemap validator.
3. Open Indexing → Sitemaps, paste the path, submit. Details in Google's sitemap docs.
4. Watch discovered URL counts for a few days. Spike of errors? Fix the file, don't just resubmit blindly.

After Success

A sitemap is inventory. If pages sit on Discovered – not indexed, you still need better links, cleaner URLs, or a direct notify. That's where IndexMe comes in — import the same sitemap in the dashboard and push through the Indexing API. We wrote more in indexing sitemap URLs faster.
